Seeking a well-balanced, liberal-arts-based education, Dave graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Performing Arts. In his four years there, he masterfully balanced an active life on campus and off as a student leader, a Resident Assistant, and an intern in the psychology, medical, and legal fields, all while performing in over a dozen university theatrical productions. With the mentoring of SJU professor and director Renee Dobson, Dave shifted his career aspirations away from the behavioral sciences. He turned down a job as a Criminal Investigative Analyst with the FBI and set his sights on graduate school for musical theatre.
For two years, Dave lived in sunny Central Florida, as an MFA in Musical Theatre candidate at the University of Central Florida Conservatory Theatre. Since then, his professional career has taken him near and far, with professional credits in Philadelphia, Central Florida, and with numerous regional theatres across the country. In addition to his performance experience, he enjoys working in theatre administration and education, and has aspirations for becoming an artistic director of a regional theatre or chair of a university theatre department.
Raised on the genius of Saturday Night Live, Dave developed a love for improv and sketch comedy at a young age. When he is not working as an actor, he is sharpening his improv tools. His journey as a student of improvisation started at the SAK Comedy Lab, and soon after as an ensemble member of Power 2 Improv, both in Orlando. He's proven himself to be an intelligent, fast, fiercely physical, and supportive improviser. Dave has also combined his various performance interests into his hilarious musical-stand-up-comedy-cabaret entitled I Live With Dead People: [some hilarious subtitle], chronicling his childhood living in a funeral home. Dave’s hobbies include playing guitar and various instruments, playing sports, cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and following the career of his supposed long-lost twin Conan O'Brien.
He is a member of Actors Equity Association.
